How I Paint Your Art
I paint everything entirely by hand using my iPad, Apple Pencil, and a digital canvas called Procreate! I've been making portraits for people for -- oh god -- ten years now. That really just hit me for the first time.
I start by sketching out the placement of landmarks in your photo, then I use a 6B pencil brush to get the major shapes. My main goals are to get good shape composition and most of all, great likeness. Likeness is how recognizable the subject is: the distinct and subtle facial features that make them look, and feel, like them!
When I'm looking for commissions, I know that an artist has been doing them for a long time when they have the skill to capture likeness in their own style : )
Then I paint (that's the straightforward part) and I finish it off with a wash of different textures and color overlays to make it look extra pretty and cohesive.

NO AI is ever used at any point of this process. I'm even writing this description right now while listening to Alligator Bites Never Heal by Doechii, can an ai do that? I doubt it.
